A True Advocate for the French Bulldog

In the world of starting out in the French Bulldog breeding, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and alone, especially when you’re searching for guidance, facing challenges, or simply trying to do right by the breed you love. I know this firsthand. Not long ago, I reached out in hopes of connecting with someone who could offer advice, support, or even just a kind word. Out of countless voices in the French Bulldog community, only one responded: Heather MacPherson of Crowd Pleazer Frenchies. That single response turned into one of the most meaningful connections I’ve made as a breeder.

I had reached out to several breeders with a genuine request for help. Whether it was about health testing, breed history, or ethical practices, I was searching for someone who truly understood what it means to choose HEALTH first. Heather was the only one who took the time to respond. She asked me to call her, and boom… this call lasted a lot longer than I expect she had planned. She answered my questions thoughtfully, offered insights backed by research, and welcomed me into a network of breeders and enthusiasts who put the welfare of the breed first.

Heather is more than just a breeder. She is a fierce and tireless advocate for French Bulldogs. Through her work at Crowd Pleazer Frenchies, she has dedicated herself to health-focused, ethical breeding, complete with OFA and PennHIP certifications, thorough genetic screening, and a commitment to honesty and transparency. But what sets Heather apart is not just her program, it’s her willingness to share everything she’s learned, freely and without ego. From in-depth research articles to historical documentation of the breed, Heather has contributed immensely to the broader understanding of French Bulldogs. She doesn’t gatekeep knowledge, she gives it away, because she knows it helps the breed as a whole. And for those of us who are still learning, still growing, and still figuring it out, her generosity is priceless.

Heather, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve not only helped me become a much more knowledgeable breeder, but you’ve also reminded me of the kind of person I aspire to be, someone who lifts others up, who answers the call for help, and who always puts the dogs first. Your compassion, your knowledge, and your dedication are a gift to this community. And I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. French Bulldogs have a powerful advocate in you. And I’m proud to say I’ve learned from the very best.

With deepest gratitude,

Vicki & King Wrex
